  • A Dukes Mixture of Duez Fasteners

My 45 BC-12D hopes to fly with Duez fasteners again.
Problem is, I can't tell what the correct lengths are.

After inspection I get numbers like this.
    Bottom cowl 11 spots.
    45-20
    AJ5-40
    45-40
    A5-40

    Top cowl 8 spots
    All are A5-40
    One will not latch.

    Could anyone help?
They are easy to get, have the dies, what goes where?

Re: A Dukes Mixture of Duez Fasteners

There have been many changes out in the field, the A5-40 is used a lot, I have three sizes and just see what works good and then insert the grommet.
Unless you have all original cowlings and boot cowl you have to measure a lot. Some use the wing type on the upper cowling but they have to be reworked to get them to line up.
