  • looking for an unsealed front lift strut

that has passed NDT inspection per AD or would pass.

One of my front struts failed and I need something to get me airborne ASAP. I'm already well over $7000 on this annual I am doing so far so I'm trying to save a little money and find a used unsealed strut to get me by for a couple years until I can gather up some more $$ for new ones.

Anyone have one they'd let a guy have for cheap?

I'm thinking of going that route also, not because I can't afford the bucks for a sealed set, but thus far my D-85 has been a shining example of low cost. I kinda think of it a challenge to keep it that way. There are other things I would rather spend the money on, that WOULD make it safer--like new mags.
There are a few struts out there, and will be more I am sure.

Re: looking for an unsealed front lift strut

I could have some struts available. My airframe struts are enroute and should
be here by the end of next week. Hopefully I'm flying a week or so after.
My struts have not been tested. I just decided to bite the bullet and have it over with. Not sure how I would sell. Test then sell or agree on a price and sell subject to there passing letting the potential buyer get them tested. AC has been hangared most of its time since the last rebuild.

I have a front strut for sale with fresh X-ray. $150, however I'm in Alaska and freight might be an issue. I'll check with Airframes today and see if he has any shipments going your way, and maybe they could be combined. Kevin

I might have a need for some of them, will know next week, I would only be interested if they came with a clean bill of health, don't want the gamble

I'll get back to you late in the week sometime arround Friday 1/4/08

I know I'm a long way away but I have a full set of struts that have just passed their x-rays with literally "zero" corrosion according to the chappy that did them.

If desperate, let me know and we can arrange shipping....

                (New ones arriving on Friday)

As you can see from the picture, they are in Mediterranean Blue!

I just installed Univair struts on my plane. I have a full set for sale $300 plus shipping which will be Fed X collect. They all look good to me, linseed oil still seeping out. One rear strut has a sleeve on the center section, it is probably stronger than the other rear strut. All guaranteed to pass inspection. Call me at 941 480 1401 or email [email protected].
