Re: Revised Strut AD Dec 10th, 2007

    Mike and Eric,
I just checked the FAA web site-it still shows open and I think it took a day for mine to show up. I don't know about anybody else but I think we are doing a great job! Everthing I have read on what we have posted is reasonable and very well worded(a lot better than mine). I am hopeing we did some good on this AD but even if we didn't I think they will be more reasonabe in the future. The only experts on our aircraft are us-not the TC owner who has very little experiance with our aircraft and I think they know that now.
    Thanks to everyone,
    Buell

I did mine today. Hopefully it will show up. They confirmed it was accepted and gave me a confirmation number.

Thank you to all who submitted comments, very well done. After I found the comments I right clicked on the bookmark icon and had a icon put on my desktop to make it easier to find the next time. At least we have excersised our rights to participate in something that directly affects our pocketbooks and enjoyment of our hobby.

          Again, well done!

Re: Revised Strut AD Dec 10th, 2007

I talked with Andy McAnaul, the FAA engineer on the Strut AD on Tues like I said I would. I confirmed that Jose Perez has retired from the FAA .
The new FAA representive to the factory , whose name I have over at the office ( it is 11:06PM EST at home , just back on line after storm damage)
Tomorrow I will recontact Andy, try the factory & contact the new FAA guy, I left a message for him on Tues.. I share with Andy all comments off this list, HE likes the idea of the data base of what we are finding out in the field. He does check in to our forumn messages.
NOW please be ready for a NPRM on the Strut Attach Fitting. I ahve arranged to inspect sets of struts out of here next week, we have four sets in the first batch. I am doing the attach fitting inspection with them off the airplane. IF that stays a one time inspection then we can do the repeat X-ray on the stuts with them on in the future. NOW we must continue to try to expand the time frame of furthur inspections. ( IF the DATA supports our request).
