  • Leaking wing tank quick drains.

Both of my wing tank quick drains are leaking. One is a type with a knob to turn vs. push in. I want to replace this one. Does anyone have a part number and supplier?

I also need an O-ring for the other one. Same question -- part number and supplier?

To replace the drain the most important thing is to determine what size threads it has where it screws into the tank. I was just looking though a Chief Aircraft catalogue this evening while unsuccessfully hunting deer and noticed they have a variety of quick drains for about $11. You may want to replace both with the same type so you can stock a seal or two for future use. I prefer a style of quick drain under the wing that won't tear up someone's head if they hit it.

Not even worth fooling with the seals, IMHO, just replace the valve. Aircraft spruce, Wag Aero, Univair, Chief, most everyone has them. Couldn't find my A.S. order. Have extra one laying around somewhere still in pkg. with p/n?, will check.

Wicks has them too, Curtiss is about $11 I think and they come with a label that says do not replace the seal replace the whole valve.

My two tank drains and the gascolator are all 1/8 NPT Curtis CCA-1550. Got them from Aircraft Spruce for about $10. Info from my spare package. Confirm on the message on the package.
