Re: factory web site info on struts
Well, I don't know if the jury strut straps will fit. There has been about 3 or 4 original "factory" shapes. I worked here when Dorthy Ferris was still making the airplane and I can remember shipping her at least two different shapes. So, I can't say for sure. We are advising customers to be prepared to make some as that is an item we don't have. This is one advantage that struts out of Brownsville will have on us is that they will come with jury strut clamps.
In another posting in recent days I stated that our struts are mild steel, but we have an Alternate Means of Compliance -AMOC allowing for their use to be terminating action on the T-Craft.
Regarding shipping: Motor freight to most places in the country out of Denver is about $150.00. It will vary depending on the market being served. However, if you live near a major airport and by that I mean something big enough to handle jet traffic, not Beech 1900s, we have seen our struts go into these airports for $80 to $120 with $100 being the average. Again, this is going to vary depending on the market being served and these prices would be freight collect.
