I've updated my soliloquy on Shinn brake matters (295kb pdf).
We did an annual and after three years and 450 hours since new linings were glued in, have gone through approximately 20% of the available 1mm of brake lining wear, meaning we can expect another 1800 hours (12 years) of use before we need to replace the linings.
