Re: Anyone received their new factory struts yet?

If ANYONE on this forum is considering sending Harry Ingram any money for anything, they should call me first.

      Maybe, with torches and pitchforks.

It'd be funny if too many people weren't already out the money.

Or are they still not allowed to manufacture anything? Do they have to buy their struts and resell them?
Well, I must say that I was both super idiiot and a dumb ###@@@!, but anyway damage is probably done. I just hope the rest of us T-Craft folks don't go the same direction.

If the factory can't supply struts, which I believe the struts issues was started by the factory, Then they might as well shut it down. Sell the rights to someone who can produces parts for us.

Re: Anyone received their new factory struts yet?

Someone made the comment that if they don't supply the struts that it will be financial ruin for the factory and Mr. Ingram.

Well now, it seems Harry has been running this scam for several years and he is doing very well financially, thank you.

If you are worried that Harry's pockets aren't getting a new lining, then you just don't understand business.

          I mean, "getting the business."

Still, I'm sure someone will stick up for him and say to give him a chance.

          That's just great.

The unwarned/unsuspecting/unaware have been giving him chances since 2003. Seems like the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Re: Anyone received their new factory struts yet?

Just got this email from the factory.

From the Factory, November 5, 2007

Lift struts, we have had a slow start in manufacturing new lift struts, first a problem with the two part epoxy paint, then a mistake with the wrong welding rod and last some tubing had a small curve in it. All problems were caught by our quality department before any struts were shipped. All strut orders will ship within the next fifteen days. Our service bulletin for the A-A11 attach fitting will be posted at taylorcraft.com by Friday, it is a visual inspection one time only for land based aircraft and every forty-eight months for float equipped aircraft. Please be advised that our lift strut service bulletin rev:B has removed Eddy Current as an approved inspection. In December we will focus on building new landing gear, tapered and straight axle. The factory will close the week between Christmas and New Years. In January we will build new upper and lower cowlings for all models. This Wednesday we will apply for our repair station license so we can repair your landing gear, motor mounts, rudders, etc. New lift struts will be shipped out in the order they were received. Thank you, for your understanding and support. Harry

straight axle?? does this mean we'd be able to put Cleveland wheels and hydraulic disc brakes on?

Sounds like a first class operation doesn't it. I hope that attorney in the Precision thread didn't read this.

                    Paint,
With all the proven paints out there that aircraft rebuilders have been using, do you really think they had a paint problem??
                    Really now.

Just in case-if you have any old landing gear rotting behind the barn please go bury them before someone finds them and gives them to the FAA as evidence that all Taylorcrafts have bad gear.

Personally I think they should sell out to Univair, Airframes, or Wag Aero, that is, someone who knows what they are doing.

                              I second that flyguy!
Did they believed that for $3400 for strut, that no one who was making struts now, wouldn't jump in and start making them also.
These folks make struts for other aircraft so they are buying material much cheaper than the Taylorcraft factory can. I would think the factory is on COD,
so the material input is hit or miss, depending on if they got any money that week.
