    Re: Group Project Idea

    Dano,
It sounds like you take very good care of your plane-and know how to keep it good condition. I would think a lot of maintence is just good common sense but a list of things that you check and how you keep it such good shape would be very helpful-just bringing attention to simple things like keeping things clean, well lubed, and free of rust might be important. What I am hopeing for on the group project is that wecan just send in ideas to Bill and he can sort thur them and we can put together a simple pamplet of maintence suggestions and ideas to help with restoring and maintaining our T/crafts-things we can do that might be overlooked otherwise and some of the ideas that people have come up with on "a good way to do something" like a way to build wing supports while we have struts off. By the way I am thinking of adding an extension to my wing rotating fixtures from Wag Aero for this-those things are really nice -They can be easily be adapted to use on ailerons, rudders ,stabilizers, elevators, etc so you can paint both sibes at once. Hope the project does work out it really seems like Bill has a great idea

As a newbe to Taylorcrafts and mechanically inept, I don't expect to be able to contribute much material. However, I would be happy to assist in collecting, organizing and editing a document. Count me in on any help there.

With all the new rust protection material in Spray cans, can we use them to protect our planes?
It has to enter the tubings some how and it means drilling a hole and plugging it. Linseed oil is a proven method and works well.
Can I get some in spraycan so I can get it into my fuselage or how do I recoat the tubing inside
        without taking the plane apart?
And have it approved by FAA!
If I drill a 1/8" hole in a longeron to spray rust protection material. Is there a FAA approved method do this?
