  • Potential NDT guy in DC area; film at 11:00

Whilst discussing welding on Friday I mentioned the strut AD and the need for determining the strut airworthiness. Guy jumps in and says go see John, he does welding AND is a "type II certified" (whatever) NDT guy.

I'll call the guy on monday, show him the AD and ask what he can do. - MikeH

Sounds good Mike, let us know. 20442's wings are coming off, (i mean that in a good way) the end of next week. Going into the barn for a winter spruce up. Good time to check the struts.

Hi Mike, Thanks for the lawn chair offer, I think I have at least one in every building on the farm. I often need to sit down after I wear myself out cussing the latest project snafu, or stopping the blood flow. I'll let you know when she's in the barn you can come up and sit with me and help watch her.

Seems like you guys have a new take on watching the paint dry or the grass grow.

Anyway, I have new sealed struts on order, but would happy to add my lawn chair to your collection or lend anther weak back to your efforts.

Yeah, we could sit on the lawn chair, drink beer and cheer Howard on! I know he'd appreciate the morale support; I'll bring the boiled peanuts - MikeH

Dan and Mike, sounds like a plan to me! If you're not flying them, working on them and talking about them are the next best things. Guess I'll have to see if that old refrigerator in the barn still works. Will keep you informed on seating times.

Hi Billy, Welcome to the club. I'm sure we'll see a decent solution come out of this mess. Stay tuned. Got a lawn chair? Howard

                    Hey Billy,

Looks like Maryland is getting a bunch of Taylorcrafts---

Glad to have you. Did you know that the Benedict Marina is an official seaplane base?
