Well bite me in the butt... I did find two fuselages up here with what could be thought of as a hole. That aft assembly for the tail spring that is a separate thing welded to the rear tubes does have a "hole" in it I am sure it was to align that fitting in the jig . Then folks have been drilling it through for oiling purpose or whatever. Normally you can pour down the tail post and it will not run out. I ahve drawings and can check. Maybe factory is answer on this one.

He knew all about it as soon as I described and told me all about.

I assume a "hole" and hole are the same thing.

Haven't looked at my 41 BC yet but the 46 BC we are rebuilding has an 1/8th hole in the middle of the tube end not the bottom.

Sorry; yes only the hole is very small, maybe #40 drill bit size.
