Well bite me in the butt... I did find two fuselages up here with what could be thought of as a hole. That aft assembly for the tail spring that is a separate thing welded to the rear tubes does have a "hole" in it I am sure it was to align that fitting in the jig . Then folks have been drilling it through for oiling purpose or whatever. Normally you can pour down the tail post and it will not run out. I ahve drawings and can check. Maybe factory is answer on this one.
