My plane is tied out and I keep it covered. The canopy, fuselage tail and wings are all totally covered. The covers really do a great job of keeping the sun off and overall are extremely beneficial. My plane just sat for three weeks though and we had a good amount of heat and rain. When I removed the covers the sides of the fuselage had some mold stains that I removed with some spray cleaner and it worked well. The fuselage did not have any stains before and they came off relatively easy. The tops of the wings though have had this problem for a while and some parts of them actually are discolored. I'm not sure if its from mold or not but it appears to be. It really looks awful
I'm just wondering if anyone else has run into this and what the best solution (literally) is to remove this.
Does mold get under the paint or just stain it. The ceconite is about 8 years old and I know there's plenty of silver on it so I doubt it is damaging the fabric.
I'm on several waiting lists for hangars but in my area it really takes a long time to come up with one.
I'm eventually going to get it painted but I'd really rather wait until its inside. I'm just interested now in making it look as good as possible and avoiding any damage.
Thanks!
