  • Paperwork for C-85 on a BC12D

I am loofking for a copy of a 337 or anything that would help me get a C-85-12 approved on a 1946 BC12D. I am not looking for a gross weight increase or a F-19 Conversion STC (Already have that). Just looking for a simple way to approve bolting a C-85 on a stock BC12D.

    Thank you,

    Erik

    85-12

    Eric,

Hate to be the harbinger but there is no way to add the 85-12 without the Harer STC. You can add an 85-8(no electric) and I think that somewhere I've heard that an airlight starter can be added for an electric start only. Otherwise, the 85-12 requires a longer mount which moves the engine 4" forward. If you are going to do that, it will be necessary to do the STC for an 85-4-85 or F19.

    Wish I had better news.

    Best Regards

        Eric,

Just converting to a C-85-12 should not be a problem, You can go the field approval route and get this done. I have done this many times on Champs and Cubs. Are you wanting to use the starter and generator on the C-85? If you blank off the starter and generator holes and don't add an electrical system, It should be no problem getting a field approval done. Where are you located? Contact me off list if I can help further.
