Re: Factory Website
Ha Ed,
How ya been? Haven't seen you around for a bit.
How high a.g.l. can you get your L2? I am at 67 ' m.s.l. but this time of year it craps out at 3200 agl. Just curious what you can get away with.
Even though you are a mile high does it climb ok the first 1,000 agl or can you tell it is summer?

Re: Factory Website
The Taylorcraft factory website was down for unscheduled maintenance most of July 07. I woke up this morning to see a broken MBR (Master Boot Record). Not good. Website is back up, but may require additional sporadic downtime for more maintenance. Factory email is inop for least 24 hours. Sorry for the inconvenience, it was a hardware failure.

Just me and gas are fine with the 65HP on a hot day with pressure Alt. near 8000... that said, I'm putting an 85HP engine in my L2, also a McCauley metal prop, and a Marvel Carburator. I can't tell you anything about how high or fast it will go... I'm getting it out of the engine shop next weekend. I'll update when I have find out more, which should be my 450mile trip home... uphill all the way.
With regards;

Re: Factory Website
There is a new approved STC allowing an engine upgrade n the L-2 series. Very effective performance improvement along with the luxury of a starter. Contact forum member "Barnstormer" for more information. We owe a great debt to Barnstormer for getting this approved, and to Forum member L-2 Gary for designing, engineering, and testing the upgrade.Taylorcraft : Making Better Aviators for 75 Years... and Counting
