  • Torque Limits

    Hello all,

My engine (A-65) is on its way and we will be installing it on my BC12D early next week as soon as it arrives. I just wanted to confirm some torque limits I have located with anyone who may know...

Prop 280-300 inch pounds (per Sensenich for a 74CK44)

The Continental manual refers to 60-80 inch pounds for the Engine Mount. Is this for both where the engine mount attaches to the airframe and the engine attaching to the engine mount via the rubbers or are there different values?

If I am missing anything else please feel free to fill me in.

    Thanks,
    Brian

    Re: Torque Limits

Brian, Continental doesn't care how the mount is done. Their spec is for the engine to mount bolts. The value is low to control the crush of the rubbers. Dick

Yep they just want them to be compressed a bit bring them all up so they bulge a wee bit, then check torque. Then I just make them even on the threads.... I ahve the filed in good shape for the fly-in . Newsletter from the Foundation is being posted now!! Hi Dick, stop over sometime??
