FUBAR was also the name given to one of the best outdoor rubber free flight models in history, kitted by Midwest, now available from Campbell's...

Nice clean up of FUBAR , like BUFF and others, I am back tonight after two weeks off cleaning up storm damage and fixing many things. This new FSDO crap has me more convinced to go to the dark side with my BC12D-85, no electrics, no radio, no xponder, no calls just go!!

            Forrest,
You gonna paint it flat black ala SR71?

Don't think I ever filed a flight plan after getting my ticket. The guys here in California were so nice before that sometimes you thought they were happy to have someone to talk with. And they knew their stuff.

I know it is just another "little" thing that we as pilots have to deal with, but it seems part of an overall significant trend and I am beginning to fear for the continued existence of, our values, our institutions and our country as we have known it in the past.

Please excuse the off-topic comment, just what I have been feeling lately. If you really dig into what is going on with things like national economics, it's flat scary.

              Re: FSS "Upgrade"

Years ago I was moving a tcraft in Miss. with a ferry permit and the FSDO said I had to file a flight plan???, so I did, didn't have a radio was opened it on the phone (on the wall at the airport) and when I got where I was going I called on the phone again and said I wanted to close my VFR flight plan, he yells to Al, "hey Al, the guy who filed that flight plan wants to close it now", nothing like being a little "homie". Ah, the memories, O.T.
