Plugs for slick mags

Hello everyone,

One of the engines I have come across has a shielded ignition (Slick mags) by my cowling does not have the bumps. Does anyone know the part number and source for the plugs and harnesses I would need to use with these mags to avoid installing the cowl bumps?

Any other options?

Somewhere on here there is information on the short cans that can be used (tight fit) without modifying the cowling. They were originally used on Aerocoupes (SP?) and are two piece items. I have used the 41 type new unshielded plugs (see aircraft spruce) but am now using the type 26 plugs (Fresno Airparts may still have some unused old ones) because the 41's have a very short hex and tend to hide in the cutout at the bottom of the cans that I have.
There is information around for building new cans--do a search.
You can PM me if you need more info. on the original type, ect.

PS I have some very slightly used type41 plugs that I would part with if you make or get cans that are not counter-bored tight at the bottom.

AirCope or Ercope or Alon Aircope.
I belive Univare has the cans.
I have some Champion 26 or equlent for sale old but ok.

Thanks for the tip on the cans at Fresno--I'll have to give him a call. The threads and such are getting a little tired on mine.
