    Forrest,

Welcome back! Please let me know where I sit for parts requested? In addition to the Prewar LH door frame and RH swingout window frame, I need a set of tailwires for 20407. Thanx.

      Re: Forrest...... Tf#733

Forrest doesn't return my phone calls or reply to my email request for parts either. Does he only want to seem like the Taylorcraft guru and is not very interested in supporting those of us trying to get our planes into the air?

        Tom,

Was your ship featured in a past Antique Classic issue?

                Re: Forrest...... Tf#733

Hi guys , I get many messages each day and try my best. I do not answer requests on the forumn, e-mail me direct, if you have not gotten an answer then I do not have it or know where to get it. As I mentioned many times in the past, folks just drop in each week, unannounced, buy parts and leave then the inventory is without for a while till I pick up more stuff , it is REALLY getting scarce..... As to guru I do know a wee bit about Taylorcrafts but do not ahve the magic solution to parts sources or availibility. How about I just go away after this Fly-In in July.?? No forumn, no answers just go.

                  Re: Forrest...... Tf#733

Forrest, no one could say you haven't paid your dues, so if you made a decision to "retire" nobody could really say anything about it. Every "regular" on this forum has been around to answer questions, and then not around because of some personal requirement, then around again for a while, then not around again for some reason. If someone is getting paid a salary to be the help desk for the entire T-craft world, then that's one thing. If someone is volunteering and not getting paid, then the people have to bear with it. So anyone who has ever been confused, annoyed, happy, indifferent, unhappy, irritated, furious, grateful, overjoyed with your availability to answer a question, and that includes me personally once or twice on both extremes, has to remember that they are dealing with a volunteer (to the best of my understanding).

That being said, perhas you might decide there is a need for some better type of schedule for you to keep for your own sanity and/or the sanity of anyone trying to get in touch with you.

I'm pretty sure that the majority of Taylorcraft owners would agree that we don't want you to disappear, be that due to a CIA operation, or someone stepping on your ego, or even too many people asking nicely for something at once!

I would also like to remind every one that Forest can not do ANY business on the forum except for Foundation business. This is why he always tell us to "Email me direct" The foundation is non profit and and it could lose it's non profit status if foundation members (especially the president) start conducting they're privite businesses on the Foundation's dime.

And Forest, go sit in the corner and pout for a while, and then come back and play nice with the rest of us. We still like you!

There you have it... a completely valid and never before addressed reason for not being able to sell parts and discuss for-profit business on the forum. If Forrest made any mistake it was not having this explained more clearly (like as part of his signature file) to aoid any misunderstanding.

Doesn't quite explain unanswered emails and phone calls, all mentioning TF # and the parts needed (which he is known to have)!

                          Re: Forrest...... Tf#733

Lets try to understand that the forum is for non profit Q ans A's
Forrest is doing what he can to answer as time permiting.
To run a FBO, bying and selling part, gas, talking to customer, it all takes time. and Time is Money.
And one has too pay once bills, or the taxman and varius other collectors will knock on the door. as we all know.
Forrest, thank for your help over the last 3 years.

There's a lot I don't know about the history and paper work stuff but I have learned a lot in the past couple of years and know how to look most of it up,if anyone needs help with anything on these old birds I will be happy to listen and answer as much as I can...if I don't know it then I can find out. Maybe spreading out some of the email questions to some of the more knowledged souls will help Forrest get a little break from time to time. Sooo(as Forrest says)if you have tech questions, how to questions, what the hell is this and where the hell does it go questions please feel free to lay them on me. I also know the Harer STC pretty well but I don't advise you try to install it without buying it first, but if you just want info about it I'm good for that too. I know very little about the L2's but I will soon be seriously looking for a project to educate myself on.
Hope this will help ya Forrest and might even speed up the reply process a little bit.
