  • A Flight in the UK

    We had an all too brief vacation this month in England. Rob Lees invited us to visit him at the former RAF & USAF base Leicester East a week ago Saturday. I got to fly with him in his beautifully restored 1941 BC to a grass strip at Keyston. The UK countryside is lovely in the spring with alternating fields of dark green and the bright yellow flowers of oilseed rape. Attached are some photos from the air: the field at Leicester, Welham Village, Weston-by-Welland, and the Boughton House near Geddington. Also Rob with his T-Craft at Keyston, and a shot of me. Rob is truely the ambassador of Taylorcrafts. Thanks, Rob, for a wonderful flight.

    Dan;
    I see by your pictures that you were flying in the left-seat. Likely in Britain that's the co-pilot side. (as in; car's driver is in the right seat)... but I was wondering if there are different customs or rules of the road while flying in England?
    With regards;

      Yeah,

      But did he take you to a pub?

        It's mandatory that if you hop over the pond and fly with us - you're gonna end up at a pub. The strip at Keyston has a beautiful little English pub by the way.

          So Andy,

          A pub at the strip?

          Have you ever told your wife you were going up to the "airport" ???
