I don't see why not, lots of these old birds have flip-out or sliders in them. I don't if it's legal or not but I like to remove a door or two in the hot summer time.

        perryv1,

Does your Taylorcraft have a headliner? I have a BC-12D modified with large f-19 style baggage and windows but with no headliner. I have always been reluctant to remove the doors for fear of air blowing into the tailcone and bulging out the fabric.

        thanks,
        David

We take the doors off our BC-12D too. It does have a headliner so not sure about inflating the tail. If you stick your head out the window to look back at the tail remove your Ray Bans first or the wind will whip them off faster than you can say rats! (and they'll join mine somewhere in the pine forest)

Yes it has a headliner, but you really dont get alot of air into the cabin.except if you slip it,then your not really going that fast when you do that.
He is right about the sunglasses,I lost 2 hats by looking back at the tail while taxiing (Im on floats in the summer) and both of them sunk before i could get back to them (I hate to loose a good hat!)
