  • A-65-8 available

My neighbor on the field has a Continental A65-8 available. This engine was removed in running condition from a BC-12D for an engine conversion about 10 years ago. It is complete with Stromberg carb and one Eisman and one Case magneto. Logs are available. This should be considered a core engine due to the length of time it has been sitting and should be overhauled prior to installation. (in my opinion)

I am unsure of the engine hours but could find that out if anyone is interested. This engine originally was on the BC-12D that we have an O-200 on now.

Not too sure of what the value is so I guess if someone has suggestions we're listening.

I failed to mention it in the original post but the engine is a flange shaft style, not the tapered crank.

For whatever it may be worth, my suggestion is to either put it in the hands of someone in the Taylorcraft fraternity, or keep it. The couple of thousand dollars you might get for it now may not be as valuable than having a rebuildable engine ten years from now when you run across a basket case airframe.

      Just my two cents...
