On my trip of five weeks, I stayed in a tent under the wing, but now days airports probably wouldn't let you do that. Of course I went to the smallest airports I could find. also it was summer time and the living was easy.

So many places I went people would let me take there car and drive to the closest town and I would go to the store or restaurant. some of the very small airstrips, went I told them I was from Alaska, I could hardly get out of there the next day, they wanted to talk airplanes and show me the sights. You meet a different kind of people along your way, people you would never ever meet driving, I am sure there people like that right here on this site.

            Danny,
I brought my Stinson from Indiana to here in deep south TX (Raymondville) a few years ago in Jan or Feb and ran into bad weather just south of Little Rock. I staid 3 days and nights in the FBO office at Malvern, Arkansas waiting out the weather and they even put my plane in the hangar for the duration. Great folks and nice airport. Malvern is a good place to stop.

I used to fly cross country in my T-craft and Vagabond. You are reminding me of one reason I want back in. The people that fly, and maybe especially the people at small airports, are very nice. I much prefer a small FBO with an old dog in front of the counter than a fancy FBO that catters to the jets.

Just "meeting" everyone on this group has been very nice for me.
