Just finished installing the EGT and Mixture control yesterday. Did ground runs and hope to fly it up high today. EGT was showing about 600 C at 1900 RPM but has rather slow response which I attribute to the relatively large mass of the protective tube over the thermocouple.
Mixture control starts to cut in at about 1500 RPM on the ground and much smoother in transition than I expected. It will kill the engine above 1800 and perhaps lower than that. I installed a new vernier type control assuming that with the short throw there would be oversensitivity using a straight pull. So far that doesn't seem to be, but it is nice to have the vernier there anyway.
It was a bright clear sunny morning a few minutes ago, but the fog just rolled in and it is really ugly out now. With luck it may clear up later in the PM. I can put the numbers that I get at altitude after the test flight if anyone is interested.
