    New F-19 sportsman owner.

    Hi group,
I found this website while I was searching the internet for parts for my newly purchased project. This site is exactly what I was looking for. My project is a slightly damaged 1978 F-19 Sportsman. The previous owner landed short of the runway and about 20 feet high into some trees. So I am in need of a nose bowl, cowling, center fuel tank, instrument panel, windshield, several main ribs, tip ribs (L and Rt side), motor mount, and last but not cheapest, an 0200 preferably with everthing FWF. Sadly the engine was sold before I found the plane. However I can't complain because I was able to pick it up for next to nothing. I live in Clinton, UT near Salt Lake City, UT so if you have some of these items or know of anyone with some who would like to sell, please call me. Being new to the Taylorcraft community (I am still learning) which T-craft would have interchangeable parts with the F-19? What books would be recommended good reading on the T-craft? Also, if anyone has any information on where to purchase aftermarket or used parts any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

      Re: 3 point seat belt

Does anyone Know where I can get a copy of a flight operations manual for a BC12D, which would include info on spins stalls etc, one that should be carried in the air plane, Essco does not have one, Thanks Walter

        Re: 3 point seat belt

OK, Wow, I'll try this one.

Walter, The older "T's" built under CAA rules had no manual, but you can construct a great one by searching "stall" or "rate of climb" or "speeds" on this website.

Brian: sounds like your F-19 may be more than "slightly" damaged. But you've come to the right place. Aftermarket sources are Univar and WagAero(?), but your best bet is used parts available from several folks here. Forrest Barber is THE Universal F-19 expert, I'd suggest a conference with him first thing.

Marc: Hooker makes a great harness for the Taylorcraft. Search "harness" for more info. By TEAR drop do you mean the cowl bump that covers spark plugs for shielded ignition? I make fiberglass cowl bumps, $30 a pair delivered, contact me on the PM, there are also aluminum plug fairings made by others...search "cowl bump" or "shielded ignition"

          Re: 3 point seat belt

Thank you Bob , the new guys have to learn to e-mail me direct with all information. N number , ser# , damage, I start a file and then get back within one to two weeks especially if they belong to the Foundation. The new newsletter will consolidate a lot of technical information.
Yes I did the flight tests on most of the F-19's from ser# 74 and up , was present for a lot of the ones under 74. Forrest Barber A&P 1486340 IA

Look at the Univair catalog under Ercoupe parts. They sell two different styles of teardrop, made from aluminum that won't fall apart like plastic or fibeglass.
