Re: 0200 stc ??
Tim,
I have an approved 337 for an 0200 on a t-craft already but it is for the short mount and keeps the gross at 1280lbs. Will this help?
Also,I think Ed has a C85 already converted to the 0200 that he has been trying to sell(if he hasn't already sold it).Kevin Mays

Re: 0200 stc ??
I have cover plates for now but the 337 does include approval for the small light weight starter and a small light weight B&C alternator(the PMA'ed one),this is just in case I decide to add the electrics later. All mine is done and approved on the short mount but you are still limited to 1280 gross. I tried the adapters for the cone mount and they do help the engine clear the nose bowl and give more room for baffles around the # 4 cylinder, however if you are using the adapters then you have to modifiy the 6qt oil pan to clear the engine mount. It is also very close clearance if you use the luscombe exhaust, the aeronca exhaust works much better for less money but I hate the way it looks and the heater ain't worth a shit! With the Luscombe exhaust the stacks come very neatly out the back of the cowl and just gives it a much neater and cleaner look plus it has better heat muffs for a little better heater. I decided to use the standard C-150 mounts and this gives me a lot more clearence around the exhaust and I don't have to modifiy the oild pan at all. However I had to work on the nose bowl just a little bit to provide clearence around the front of the engine case and I only have about 1/8" clearence between the #4 cylinder and the nose bowl. The C-150 mounts also gives me just a little extra room for the slick mags and doesn't put so much strain on the lead wires.Kevin Mays

Re: 0200 stc ??
FYI for all of you. I did the Harer STC and got a 337 to replace the C85 with a C-90-12F. You are allowed up to 10% increase in HP via 337....so...85 HP x 10% = 93 HP. The C90, I'm told, will outperform the O-200 since the power curve is better at lower RPM's, the O-200 produces 100HP @ 2750 but at 2400rpm's the C90 puts out more HP....so on takeoff and climbout, your getting more bang out of a C90. I have both a C-85 powered T-Craft and a C90 Powered T-Craft...and I can tell you that there is a noticable difference between the two from first hand experience. A friend of mine had an F-19 and getting out short was no contest. Admittedly I have no electrics and my C90 Powered T-craft is only 800lbs E.W. but my 85 HP T-Craft is 820lbs E.W. and the C90 is off shorter and climbs much steeper and still cruises at 100+ with a CK76-2-40 prop. I can takoff from my 1000ft strip with me 205lbs and my dad 260lbs + 24 gals and not even sweat clearing the trees at the end....those of you math whizzes can quit calculating...I know it overgross...I'm just saying, my overall point is....I could probably find a C90 for less than 13,000 bucks and figure in what you could get by selling your C-85 and it make good economic sense.
