    If there's no snow George!

The EAA newsletter I got today says if there's not enough snow for skis, you can land on wheels with approval and a briefing: See this link

I'm off to the west coast on Sunday. Not back until the 28th. Maybe see you there?

Well I guess I should think of others, I imagine you have been having bad days & nights with weather up there in Michigan too! Share with the tribe your recent corporate flight stuff too!

            Re: Ski Flyin

OK, I bit the bullet and took vacation for the skiplane minus skiis for me flyin at Pioneer field. Now just the lake effect snow gods have to take a vacacation and clear the path for me.

Forrest, work has been extremely busy! I know I can't get any sympathy, so I won't even try! I have been all over the place, and I have a nice tan for the middle of winter! The only bummer is I have only flown my t-craft about 3 hours this month.

            See ya's in Oshkosh!

                Re: Ski Flyin

Do you know how much snow is up there? In your best educated guess, do you think they will be landing wheeled planes at Pioneer? I just called for my briefing and got voicemail so I couldn't ask these questions.

                See ya there!

I was told wheeled planes can land at wittman, they have a shuttle. Thats probably what i will do. I'l call flight service. George

                    Re: Ski Flyin

Just got off the phone from pioneer airport. Not enought snow right now for skis but they said to call back closer to the date. Anyone going needs to call Sean at 1-920-426-4886 to register and receive landing instructions ahead of time. George

                      Re: Ski Flyin

We got about 4 inches of snow, expect a little tomorrow, less than 1/2 inch.
Fri. temps in the mid 20's and lots of wind out of the south west.
                      Sat cold, no snow.

Your wok sounds like mine. You get to do what you want as long as it doesn't interfear with how you make a living. Just went to the hanger to check on the plane. The frost won't let the door open, so that means I'l probably be fliying the chicken hawk (172). George
