Crispy, My problem was that while I wanted to tell my Dad to do a lot of things he should do, I never quite got stupid enough to tell him shove it! its amazing what a genius I was at 19.
Bob,
You want to hear the funny part.....It was my dad that I spent those 12 years working for, lol. He helped me make the decision to quit, now he works for me part time when he isn't running a construction company. I also learned almost everything I know about tube, fabric, and anything airplane related from my dad and when I got to the point where I was doing things his way without him having to tell me to do them that way he said it was time I started doing it full time before I started getting that good at construction.
Chevy Camaro, 1974 Z28. 1973 full-convertible Chevy Blazer. I'll get a picture on here one of these days of the Camaro when I finish the paint, body work done, in primer now. Putting final touches on ported Vortec heads. Trying to talk myself into taking the top off the engine and putting them on. Sure hate to take apart an engine that is running great. Will be about 420+ HP with new heads. Already has cam, headers, intake manifold, four speed--all that stuff. Keeps me from getting bored. About 10 miles/gal. What with 3.42 gears: 3000 rpm at 65.

My first car was a 1929 Gardner roadster while in college in LALA land. Gardner was bought by GM in the depression. The Gardner had the lines of a MG-TD, but had a rumble seat. Didn't get my first airplane, a T-Craft until 9 years later. Had too many cars to remember, including a MG-TD, and TR3. Now, after many different tin can airplanes, I'm back to the Taylorcraft. But driving a sedate Outback.
