I am trying to solve a problem with my marvel carb.
It was throwing a lot of gas out when proping. We took it off and looked it over. The float seemed to have been out of adjustment, the drop was set too low. It was about a half inch below the bottom of the bowl, and the height of the float, was up almost to the top of the air horn. I noticed that the throttle shaft has quite a bit of play, and the needle seat has been soldered to the little base piece underneath of it. it seems that it must have came loose, or something, and someone soldered it, wow! . I wonder if anyone would have bushings for the throtle plate shaft, and a needle and seat available. MA 2 carbs do not exist in any parts catalogs. Is there an stc to adapt a carb with a working mixture control on the lycoming 65?
