The Alaska Magnum...if I had this I would sell it and buy 2 Taylorcrafts...one on floats and one on wheels...It would make this seasonal thing a lot easier!! Dick

Re: Big Tires
Big Tires do make a difference. These guys are hard to stay with...but we still have a lot of fun chasing them with our 8.50's.Last edited by Dick Smith; 11-18-2006, 21:03.Dick Smith N5207M TF#159

Re: Big Tires
If all C150 Taildraggers perform like the one I've flown, those big tires are needed because you're going to run over a LOT of rocks getting off!
31" Bushwheels are the cheapest insurance you can buy if you're operating off-airport.

Re: Big Tires
I guess my point is...we get quite a bit of "value" out of our old birds. They are not the "end all/be all" of airplanes, but they shell out an awful lot of fun for their relative prices. This PA-12 is one of my favorites to "circle" and drool (the workmanship is really something), but you could buy 6 or 7 Taylorcrafts for the same money. I guess it's just whatever turns your crank!Last edited by Dick Smith; 11-19-2006, 10:10.Dick Smith N5207M TF#159
