  • WC Field Flyin

N86872 and I flew 160 miles to my friend Todd's airstrip in Elizabeth, Louisiana (near Oakdale). Todd and his wife have beautiful strip at their home (where they keep 2 Bonanzas). You can see their older Bonanza in this picture.
Beautiful weather, great food, wonderful hospitality, good music and dancing after dark. Lee (Yellow Duck / Cajun Grasshopper) and Shirley rode in on their Hogs.

Yessir, the approach from the South is a gap between similar really tall trees. For my first approach I landed over the trees. Then, taxiing on the ground I verified that there was easily enough room for 2 Taylorcraft wingspans between the trees. So on my next approach, I shot between the trees. It's really daunting. Even after I had verified that there was plenty of room, as I approached this line of trees on short final, it didn't always look like the TCraft would fit between them. Very exciting.
