  • Window STC

Well it's been 6 weeks since I bought my plane and 1 week since I got my licence, and today was the best flight ever! Just a local flight but having a total blast getting to know my TCraft!
Overall really happy with my bird, but I did make one pretty big screw up. I can't seem to find a STC on the glass in the documentation. My mechanic says not a big deal and I might even be able to purchase a stc for it. For a Canadian a/c is this something I can find? Anyone have any words of wisdom please?
    regards, Lawrence.

I suggest you send five dollars to the FAA in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to get the CD that shows all the 337's and STCs that have ever been filed for that aircraft.

      Re: Window STC

I sure would love to see some more pics with details of them windows. There is no STC for what you have. The only STC is for a skylight back to the rear spar cary through. I have seen pics of other Tcrafts with windows like yours and would love to do the same thing to my bird.

jgerard, here's some more pictures. Visibility is awesome, but one downside, it gets bloody hot sometimes! Tom G, no idea when glass was done, and I'm starting to think no stc available...

              Re: Window STC

The later models F-21B and F-22 had similar large windows and skylight, all the way back to the trailing edge. The Taylorcraft Foundation has the drawings available. There is also an existing STC for at least some part of that skylight installation, owned by someone in Alaska. I am "working on" an STC for the forward portion of the skylight that does not require welding, but my project does not involve the large rear windows.

Ther early model "D"s had a shade that was mounted in the rear and pulled foward and snapped to keep it in place. Dick
