I sold my 150 and bought a BC12D,its been sitting in a hanger for the last 5 years ,it looks real good it had a issue with linen rib stitching and ceconite fabric,I had to get this resolved before I bought it,I called ceconit about the STC and was told at the time it was done it was legal and it was not a issue as long as it and the fabric was in good condition,it one wing tank leaks a little, in 2001 it had new bungies instaled, the left strut has a small rust hole about the size of a pencil lead down near the attach point, but it comes with 4 brand new struts!!on the pre buy a small spot of rust was found at the bottom of the rudder, some paint is pealing off one aileron, other than that I feel good about the planethe n#is n43116,Ill try to post some pictures of it post pre buy with all cowling and inspection holes open, thanks to all you guys for all the info, wayne

    Congratulations Wayne!
It sounds like you are starting on a grand adventure.

And perhaps some other member of the tribe could use your old struts and repair them to get another classic back in the air.
    Best Regards,

I have the same holes in the bottom of the struts. When disassembled I fill the struts with tube oil to protect the insides from rust. The holes will then drain out the excess oil. Tube oil or linseed oil! Rich Anderson
