  • A65 on floats?

    Hey guys.
N33942 already has the Gilberti conversion done...still looking for a C85 or 0200..but, I have a chance at a pair of floats (1320's)and I now live on the lake. So, will it fly with the A65 until I make the decision and change over to C85 or better? Anyone out there whom has flown on such a setup? All comments welcome,. please.

Dan There is a 65 hp t-craft on floats that flys out of anderson lake here in wasilla. Ive talked to him and he says it dose fine faily lite. He likes it alot. Hes like you he is looking for a bigger motor. And he says the 65 dose just fine in the meantime..

Hey, okay, then at least there is one more guy here in the state that is currently underpowered as I may very well be. At least it is doable. Did this fellow mention what his new cruising speed was with the 65 hp and 1320 floats? I am guessing that one does not loose more that 10 mph, and thanks for the response.

        Dan -

I believe one of the list members (AcroEric?) had an O-200 for sale a couple of months ago.

          O200

          Dan,
I think Eric sold his O200 but I have one that I would sell.It has been setting for a while but is was pickeled well.It has all accesories except for the pipes and prop.It has 1700TT(first run engine)and a fresh top that has not been broke in yet.I would take $4000 plus shipping.

            Kevin.
Thanks for the good offer, but I am going to have to wait for a little more cash in hand before I buy. Luckily, the 0200 can sit around a while longer perhaps? I just bought a house, and have been truning the equity of the property into toys that I want...Check out barnstormers and aeroalaska for some other good ideas I have...like a hot tub for trade..anyone? I still want (emphasis on want) a bigger engine, but NEED floats now that I live on the lake. Driving to the airport really stinks.
