  • Potential airplane buyer in San Jose CA

    To whom it may concern:

If you are in the San Jose area and would not mind showing your airplane to someone that in interested in buying a Taylorcraft airplane please contact me via PM.

Thanks. bob. I will attach some of his email below:

I want to look at a BC-12, but I am having trouble finding someone locally who owns one. I don't want to fly it, but I would like to see one up close, and possibly sit in it. I was hoping I could post something to see if anyone in the San Jose, CA area owned a BC-12D that I could look at. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    Bob Ollerton

    Bob,

The FAA aircraft registry database (http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/) lists 132 BC12-Ds in California, three of them in San Jose. With the owner names and addresses from there, one could probably track down phone numbers for those owners.

And for Cryin' out loud there's GOT to be something at Reid Hillview...Robin Reid, are you on this forum? Not having a Taylorcraft somewhere at San Jose Reid Hillview airport would be a criminal situation!

I spoke to Robin last week in which he lined up a ride for a guy in a BC-12D in San Jose last Wednesday. This gentleman is interested in my BC-12 I have for sale. Not sure if this is the same guy or not. Robin is currently on a trip, but I talk to him periodically. (As you may or may not know, Robin sold the business).
            Cheers,
            Marty

Please send him my best whenever you speak to him. We didn't spend much time together, but e both had F-1 airplanes at the same time, and I thought he was a very nice guy. I did not know what happened to the flight school after Amelia passed away.

                Bill,

You are definitely correct, he is a very nice guy. The school is still in operation with at least one L-2, several Citabrias, etc. There is a web page for the school if you want to Google for it, don't have the address handy at this time.
                Cheers,
