Re: Needed: Bungee Covers
CO problem is pretty much solved now. I inspected and found an exhaust manifold nut was missing and several others were a little loose. I fabricated a vinyl boot and covered the bungees on the inside. I also relocated the blow-by tube to exit the cowling alongside the exhaust.
I have attached the CO detector to the roof above my head (about 10 inches from my breathing zone) The reading hits a peak for about 2 minutes during takeoff and climb of 35 ppm. In level flight it goes back to zero.
Published 8 hour workplace limits for carbon monoxide (Time weighted average) is 50 ppm. So a peak of 35ppm for a few minutes poses no problem.
Thanks everyone.
