Well I didn't want to resort to this but two years after ordering about 10K worth of parts and only getting half of what was promised and never getting a phone call returned in the past 6 months I filed a small claims lawsuit against taylorcraft and yesterday the judge ruled on my behalf
triple damages so lets see if taylorcraft comes up with any money
any one out there haveing any luck with the factory??

A few weeks ago, I ordered trim tab pulleys from them, and got them right away. Of course, it wasn't as big an order as yours. Mind you, I tried in itially be email and got no response, so I had to use the old fashioned, telephone method.

Did anyone make it to EAA this year? Did the Factory show up? As explained to me in April '06 -- Harry wanted to make a big splash at the Fly-in this year? Any reports?

I didn't spend a lot of time in the type club area or the VAA area, except to say hello to Forrest and some Aeronca guys, but I did not see Taylorcraft anywhere on the grounds- either in VAA or in the exhibit area. I did see Legend, Cessna, and the Van's RV12 LSA's though...... Taylorcraft could compete nicely, but has to show up....

I had a friend that said he talked to Harry at Oshkosh and they were there.

Harry was there, I did not see him.
He did not show up at the t-craft forum.
There was no factory T-craft at the show.
He did bring a fuselage to a group which is trying to sell the T-craft as a kit .
Thet have there own wings.
Can't remember the name but Forest talked to them.
The fuselage was there from Monday till Thursday, and was taken back to brownsville.

There seems to be very little on the status of the Plant. Are they building the LSA? Their web site has one posted in flight, which is most encouraging to see. Have they built any more, and has anyone had a chance to fly the new one? Like others, I had hoped to see it at Oshkosh.

I fear that due to the image of GA and the prices of even LSA's, they'll go the way of the other T'craft factories, all making the same mistakes. I'm not putting a curse on them, but the signs have been exhbitied before throughout aviation's history.

I heard a "RUMOR" (second hand) that Legend Cub was talking about buying Taylorcraft.. does anyone know this to be true or just someone spreding wishful gossip. Personally I think it would be a marrige made in heaven,Legend has the resources and the ability to make it happen and they have already proven themselves very well. I for one hope it's true.

I don't mean to take sides or rain on anyone's parade, but I'm reminded that history seems to repeat itself with Taylorcraft. If you've read my book, you know that their finacial troubles started in June of 1937, and more or less kept on until the War started. Then, after the War, they lasted about 14 months before bankruptcy. Things were finacially sound under Dorothy Ferris. though. One of the jokes I tell about writing the book was that every chapter shold have been called "Chapter 11"

On a happier note, flew my DC-65 today. What a wonderful plane.

Chapter 11 Ahh Yes a Taylorcraft is a good signle seat aircraft. Whats the economic killer. I did get my wife in the plane for the first time yeasterday for a short ride. She wants me to trade up!
Modern standards are sett by Ch 601, RV 9 and alike except for nostaliga.
I did not know this when I got mine. I wanted to fly and the Taylorcraft was afordable.
To make the Taylorcraft to be a seller, it needs a 4" wider cabin, 1600 Lbs gross weight and 100 hp or better.
I am glad I don't have to try to sell it as a modern aircraft.
On the average we all have gained weight what has to be carried by the plane.
It is called progress.
But I love my BC 12D as it has grown on me and I always liked older things
(Antiques in other words). Some how they are simpler and more fun.
When I look at how some of us use our Taylorcrafts, I see what we seldom fly with passangers, for reasons other when the aircraft, some hop in and out clearings in the bush or little lakes, just go there! The Taylorcraft is a great plane for what kind off flying!
Secondly, it is not for the average modern pilot(= Cessna drivers)
It is for us Antique Pilots what still (Think we) know how to fly a taildragger.
There is some younger "full flegded pilots" what learned to fly a taildragger as well, but not to many.
It is true what it is two kinds of taildrager pilots: the once what have ground looped and the once what are going to!
I am not writting anything new here, we all know about the plane and we also know what if you are to suceed in business you have to deliver what you promise on time, or in a reasonable time.
I dare say: What in a pinch, Mrs Faris coverd a wing or some ailerons her self just to keep a customer happy!
As a bussunies owner, you need a positive attitude, have all or some of the shopskills and be willing to put in 12 to 16 hr days to succed.

I decided to trade up to a "modern" 1956 Mooney M20. I have been working on it for quite some time now. I need something (affordable) that I can put my wife and daughter in and go places. Unfortunately, my T doesn't cut it there. To make my Wife happy I offered to sell the T (although I really didn't want to). She flat out said NO! Even though neighbors said I need to sell it, she again said NO!

So sadly I am going to be stuck with two planes and one unbelievable woman!!! (sorry guys, she has no sisters and I'm not letting her go!)

Richard,sounds like our wives are from the same mold.If my first or second wife could have been anything like my thrid(and current) wife it would have saved me a LLLOOOOTTTT of money in divorce settlements.lol
