I can't read anything on it, but it should be the serial number. Every original spar I've seen has one. Occasionally they even match the airplane they're on!
It should have a little TAC mark stamped on it too.
I know that all Taylorcrafts have them, but there's just someting about NAILS through a wing spar that still just bothers this old model airplane builder!

Well, actually I put mine on with double stick tape...
I know they work just fine, but the thought of putting all those weak spots in the spar just never sat well with me. I wish I could think of a more clever way than nails.
