  • Norman, Oklahoma Fly-in, August 12th at McCaslin Airport (O44)

    The field identifier is "Oscar44".

Arrive at 10:00, we'll start eating lunch around noon & have birthday cake afterwards (Gladys McCaslin, the owner of the field, turns 78 that week). Lunch will be at "Big Belly BBQ" across Hwy 77, just a few hundred feet away.

At 11:00, we'll start fly-bys of unique and antique aircraft. We expect to have 30+ planes in attendance, many of them classics. Fly-bys will continue until 2-3PM. Come out and you are guaranteed to see a wide variety of aircraft. Everyone is welcome. Drive-ins are also welcome if you don't have a plane. The field is mowed and in good condition.

If you have any questions, feel free to call Steve Ruse at 405-209-9010. Get more information at:

        Steve,
I landed at McCaslin in the C172 this past Saturday. Cold front had just come thru stiff wind out of the North. We were greeted by Mrs. McCaslin who is as sweet as can be. She made us come in for a tour of the house. Neat Lady. We asked if she'd mind us leaving the airplane while having lunch, walked over to "Big Belly's" for some wonderful lean brisket. As we came out after lunch, that north wind was wicked - gusting to 30+! Ended up we hopped over to westheimer in Norman and tied down as the clouds rolled in. Called Chet Peek, who came over and we had a good chat about old airplanes. My kids' mom picked them up at sundown... so I hopped back in for a 2hr night flight back to Waco. I'll be back for more BBQ for sure. We'll look you up.
