  • Missing .028???

I'm looking at my tubing catalog and see 3/4"(.750) having a wall thickness of .028 and an ID of .694. Now .694 + .028 = .722. I seem to have lost .028 somewhere!

Anyone have an insight? - Mike

I think they used that for the mystery spar doublers on the later spars that Mrs. Feris built with the 28xx drawings.

Never mind; I figured it out.

That .028" was the missing dimension which allowed the government to prove the single bullet theory. I could explain it, but I'd have to kill you...

The diameter has two .028 wall thickness to add. Thus, the missing .028 is the other side of the tube.
