  • Hubcaps

Looking for main gear wheel hubcaps for my 1945 BC12-D. The wheel is a Shinn Model 6C with "ATC 1963" inscribed on it . It holds a 6.00X6 tire. It accepts 3 screws to attach the hubcap. Any idea where I can find a couple of "Taylorcraft style" hubcaps to fit?

I have the equipment to manufacture hubcaps for the size wheel
you indicated. I do not manufacture Aircraft parts. However, whatever you put the hubcaps on makes no difference to me.
After Sun and Fun I will have some spare time and could run off a few sets. They are $ 75.00 including mounting hardware. Let me know if you are interested. John in N. Fla.

I had been wanting hupcaps or wheel pants to dress mine up as well, but never had the extra money to do it. The other day I roughed the wheels up, taped them off and shot them with a matching red from home depot. I never had noticed the detail in the old wheels before as they were black. There is a real pretty 'spoke' molded into them. With them painted the bright red to match the airframe, they really look quite good. Cost: $2.50

        wheel pants hardware

I have a BL-65 that came with wheel pants but not the mounting hardware.

I spoke to the factory down in texas and they are thinking they may be able to come up with something in 5 to 7 weeks.

Does anyone have a mounting kit for BL-65 wheel pants?

        Thanks

          Re: Hubcaps

Message to John Reagan: Sir, are you still able to produce the 7" diameter Shinn hubcaps for the 6" Shinn wheel, the style with the three recessed mounting holes 4.5" apart? If so, how can I get in touch with you? Thanks very much.

            Re: Hubcaps

I would like to buy a pair of hub caps. I think the wheels are Firestone 6.00X6.

And the guest looking for mounting hardware for wheel pants send me a private email or to neat1s at yahoo.com.

                Re: Hubcaps

Blue Streak, you might try searching for the thread "Need to borrow a three bolt hubcap" from Feb. 2008 and ask Bill at Vintage Aircraft Services if he's making hubcaps yet.
