  • Prewar Covering Cost

Just a quick note to update the group. I stripped the covering off the RH wing and was thrilled to see the excellent condition that everything appears to be in. I hope the left is as nice. The rear spar has a small aluminum tag nailed (approx center span) to it that appears to be a part#. Was this "normal"?

I just ordered the entire "kit" to cover my 1938 BF. I stopped shopping when I talked with Jim and Dondi at Aircraft Technical Support. It was a VERY pleasant experience to work with Jim and Dondi! Both were extremely helpful in answereing the numerous calls and dozens of questions/pros/cons pertaining to choice of coverings.

Basic kit was $2950...by the time I added envelopes, epoxy primers, covering tools, the thinner and topcoat (for all but fuselage) I was up to $4000.

I finally started using the "search" function on the site here and am sure impressed with the wealth of knowledge that is available to the group.

    Thanx to all!
