  • Windshield Supports

I have noticed on some of the pictures posted here that there are little supports on the center A-frame that keep the window from pushing back (I guess that is what they are for).

I don't have that on my plane, and the window does get pushed in quite a bit. Enough that it breaks the seal and water comes in if I go through a shower.

    Are these on all models?

    Re: Windshield Supports

I have them on my 1945 BC12D. The wind screen is pretty thin compared to my Sundowner. I have a silicone filler around the edge of the wind screen.

I had the filler too, but the wind pressure broke that seal.

Richard, I have never seen one without the windshield support and that fact that yours deforms convinces me to say this; get some installed ASAP.

I personally would not fly the A/C before doing that.

Make some and use hose clamps to afix them to the tubes in the aircraft. It appears that you already have an idea of what they look like and where they go.
