Yeah...Gods country. went picking morel mushrooms last evening...glassy water landing at 11:36 pm, plenty of daylight,. lots of mushrooms left for those on floats.(buckets)

I remember the night I got to Illiamna...spent the night on Eastwind Lake, changing a carb on an Otter. Next thing I know, the kitchen crew is bringing me some food... BREAKFAST!! I'd worked all night on a few things (I tend to get pretty focused and involved in my work ) and hadn't needed a flashlight at all!!! Tough part was getting enough sleep!

For me it is about mid-october through mid-january. The biggest reason is not enough daylight. I do not have a hanger so I have to pre-heat.

AK Tribesman. those of you that crave the ever flavorful Morel Mushroom, I have found the spot. picked for two hours today, adn my wife and I came out of the woods with over 16 pounds....took till 2Am to clean em all, and we left plenty of "soldiers" behind. Send me a private message, adnI will give up my spot as I hate to see them go to waste as summer progresses, there is no way I am going to get to em all. And yes, it requires floats........
