I told the group in January about the partial ground loop that put our '46 BD12-D in the ditch. We pulled the wings this weekend to get a good inspection of the inboard spars and found the left rear spar split longitudinally in about the middle (up and down direction) of spar for about 2-3 feet long from just inside the fuselage attach bracket. We're not as close to flying as I thought we were.
Can someone offer suggestions about the best place to buy a new spar if we can't get it spliced locally? I'd like to be able to buy a completely built up spar if possible. I guess the factory is one source. I would appreciate you thoughts.
