  • L-2m

A local pilot recently had a stroke and is needing to sell his L-2M.
I need to know approximate current value for this fellow's wife.

A few particulars - The engine was replaced with a C-85-8 and I am researching the paperwork. Green house glass in good condition. Plane is dusty from disuse, but intact and last flown in about 2004. I do not know if the spoilers are intact.

Once all is known, I'll probably be given the go-ahead I hope to be able to post it for sale here first.
    Best Regards,

    Re: L-2m

$18K to $23K real world cash value depending on condition and quality of restoration, IMHO.

Game players and those under the influence of paint fumes would be putting a $25K to $50K asking price in TAP.

In late 2004 I passed on a perfect museum piece 75HP L-2M for $21K (original asking price over 30) and it took him several months to get the airplane sold.

Mark, if the price is right and the aircraft is good. May be interested. The Duck will be gone. Either to the Insurance Co (Avemco) or a purchaser. Don't want a project.

Really great L-2Ms are bringing 30K+. Something to keep in mind is that the "M" model gross weight is 1325 pounds. Dick

That's correct. If the tandem serial number is between 4100 and 5165 the gross is under 1320 pounds. That includes all L-2s,L-2As and L-2Bs. Dick
