Hi folks,
I recently aquired a j-5 project. It has the original wood spars. The wings seem to be in good shape ie. ribs ect. I would like to reuse the wings but put an 0-320 motor in it. The fuselage has had some mods done on it such as super cub trim system, tail feathers, and cross tubes for skylight.
I guess my question is whether the wood spars would be adequate for the larger motor. The only draw back is that putting flaps on probably isn't an option.
I was thinking about going experimental on this project. Anyone have any experience on turning a certified aircraft into experimental?
Thanks a bunch,
Wade
