88M: On the road!

I got a bunch of friends together today and moved 88m from southern MD to storage where I can get to it easily.

Here are some pics -

Rick says when the wings come off they look like a poodle just after a haircut, and I have to agree.

I had planned on simply getting the wings off and on the trailer today and come back on Sunday and drive when there was little traffic. Rick changed my mine for me:"Hell, they are all going to stop and stare anyway!"
Getting this thing moved was a major milestone for me, as I"m a worry wart of the first degree. Wings came off without a hitch. I put 88M on the trailer facing aft, and of course that caused the trailer to tip - no harm done. We remove one alerion and that enabled us to put both wings under the fuse.

Looks good Mike. I always liked to pull them forward...they actually pull easier that way and I hate having the heavy part back...sorta get a "tail wagging the dog" thing going if you're not careful.
So how far from you is it going to be located now?

we had a platform to hold the tailwheel on the trailer tongue.

I have known today a magnificent intoxication: I got my annual done. Forty hours work, it's never been in better shape, so I listed it on Barnstormers at 16,500 "offers accepted." There's a beautiful plane for sale here, AND I WANT IT!

That does help, Mike. Thanks. I was going to make me an offer I couldn't refuse.

In the discussion about the Duck in other posts, people are making points about TCraft values. In just a few days, I have had 17--count 'em, 17 emails and calls about my plane. I think one guy is about to buy it sight unseen. I am urging him to come take a look-see, however. I hate to sell it after all the work I've put into it, and have it in really solid shape, but I have other plans, people to see, places to go.

Yes, And moreover, a pet that doesn't poop or wake you up in the middle of the night.

I'm not sure about my next challenge. I'd like to find another TCraft, or there's a Luscombe on the field, but whatever, it will be another plane of some sort. One guy wants to trade a Stearman project for it. That's a bit much. But my plane ain't sold yet/
