Getting the ASV all welded up today. Ready to lift aircraft by wing root for the first transition to floats. I already have installed a set of hooks in the wing root that fits between the two flanges. Takes up the dead space between the inside and outside flanges of the wing and airframe, with the bolt running through it. I am questioning if it is too small. So, what any of you done in the past, or how is your system built? pics always helpfu.

    Dan,

We just remove the wing root fairings and put a nylon strap around the front spars to lift mine....no hooks. A spreader bar and hoist and it's up in no time. Takes about 2 hous total for the install. Does anyone think this is putting any undue stress on my spars?

That's exactly what I've done in the past Dan... I can't see where it's going to put any undue stress on anything as long as ya use that spreader bar. I've lifted everything from a Tcraft to an Otter that way and never had a prob. I never liked leaving a "tab" or ring sticking up through that wing root fairing..always a great spot for things to get in there.
