N94998 9398 will be 60 tomorrow. 94998 has had some very interesting owners. Jack Raphael owned her from 1958 to 1962. Jack was a fighter pilot with the RAF then flew P47s and P51s with the 336th Fighter Sq 4th Fighter Group. In honor of Jack I'm thinking of calling her "Eager Beaver" this of course is with the permission of Jack's son David with whom I've had the pleasure of speaking with. Check out this site...it contains alot of photos Jack took and his daily diary.
            Kind Regards,
            John

Thought I was the only one crazy enough to celebrate an airplane's birthday! Mine (CF-HIV) serial #9638 was also 60 on August 26th. She received a birthday cake, a great flight, and a new headset in celebration of the ocasion! She's located in Wetaskiwin, Alberta which is also the site of the Reynolds-Alberta Museum and Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame.

All the talk about data plates so I checked mine. 95645 was sixty on my mother's birthday, and I can't think of a better omen than that!

44008 had her test flight 9/26/46. Then it was off to North Dakota for Hi-Line patrol.

Today, according to the data plate, N44305 is 60 years old and before long this month, I will be, too. So we celebrated by upgrading to new shoulder harness/seat belts and replaced the original glass-bowl gascolator with a modern one, STC'd by Steve's Aircraft. We had a great ride this morning in the bumpy, blue Hoosier sky. Life is good.

My BC12D T-Craft, N96179, had its application for airworthiness certificate filed by the factory on May 27, 1946, so it will soon be 60 and 6 or 60 years and 6 months.
Forrest, I think I need to contact you by phone. When is a good time?

My BC-65, NC29624, Ser.# 2466, was "born" on Dec. 10, 1940. So, next Sunday it will be 66 years old and it is in its birthday suit, totally stripped for it first full rebuild since new. Has had two covers since original but never a total rebuild and it is going to have original colors and paint scheme, hopefully by April or May. My dad bought it in 1943 and we're getting older together.
