      Mazeltov Mike. what's the story on it? Is it a "fly for a while then re-do it" deal, or is it a "trailer and razor blade first" deal? What were the results of your pre-buy? Did you take an ice pick to the lower longerons? Did you look closely at the spars? and the innards of the wings?

            Did all the inspection things. The pro is stopping by next week to take a closer look at the internals; depending on what he says will determine if the fabric comes off immediately or piece-meal. - Mike

                  Center punch is my tool of choice.
                  punch end acts like an icepick;
                  blunt end is used to percuss the tubing, listening for a change in tone - MIke

                    Hey, that lawchair is actually a very important inspection tool.
                    After the a/c takes your breath away, you sit down for :15, then take another look. That's when you spot that funny looking spot on the landing gear and that suspicion spot on the longeron. And is that fabric showing over there? - MIke

                      Mike, it was a joke. (maybe not a good one, sorry)

                      In the crew of airport misfits I run with it's one of our catch phrases. As in, "jeez, this thing needs a total rebuild". You reply "Naw, that'll buff right out".

                        I don't think the chair is for sale, Ed.

                          With all the interest in Mike's plane, I think we ought to have a fly-in wherever it is. Jim (high time Cub) and I are from the same neighborhood, so we'll fly down in his Fleet, and others can convene from various other 'hoods. We can flip pancakes and offer unsolicited, unwelcome, thoroughly objectionable, argumentative, conflicting advice about what Mike should do. I get the lawn chair from which I will offer the first piece of bad advice.

                            Sounds like fun, but I can't attend for geographic reasons.

                            Mores the pity, I could bring my own lawn chair.
