Out of curiosity......

I was flipping through my paperwork and noticed the Harer STC. It says on the STC: "For BC12D SN 8091 N95791 only. Issued to 'previous owner'. For his exclusive use. CR Harrer.

Ok....... the STC is for my TCraft but only to be used by the previous owner. If I had bought the plane as a fixer upper, could I have installed the STC? Is it now for my exclusive use?

Kind of confusing. Can I show the plans to others? (I think making copies would be illegal, right?).

The STC goes with that particular aircraft, Richard. I noticed the sign off on that too.. it was strange in my thoughts. You're also correct that it's illegal to make copies of the paperwork for others.. but I know it happens. As an owner of an STC, it really "irks" me, when I put all the money and time into developing the STC and someone else tries to copy it and use it for free.. the FAA has helped us a bit in the last few years, but it still happens. That's the reason for the "personalizing" the STC paperwork now a days.

Someone has asked to look at the paperwork, which I have no problem with. But no copies. I find that if there is something of value, I pay for it. I would hope that I would be treated similiarly.
